Dear Glen,
Fantastic art!, I love your style. I am quite new at cg . I would love if you can take a look to my work, and maybe we talk via e-mail.
Thanks!
Diego.
Hi ya Glen! I saw your artowrk today and I think I remember it from either Imagine FX magazine or the Exotique Books. Were in those? Anyway, I wanted to say I love your work. Your style is great! The characters, style, level of detail, imagineation, everything is cool!!! Would love to see a tutorial from you. I placed a yes where Rebecca had left a message to. Awesome stuff!!
I was wondering something though....how do you deal with doing things at work all day and then coming home and doing your personal stuff? Do ever get into a lull or a point where your like...ah...kinda tired right now? I mean, how do you keep going after staring at a computer all day at work? I'm currently under that situation a lot.
Hi guys,
Glad you like the drawings posted- hope you can check out and read the tutorial- plus I added a couple of new concept pages as well.
areasdac- be happy to check out your portfolio and talk to you- I'm also hopefully going to be doing a workshop in April that would be cool if you tried out.
zdparker: To answer your question- yeah I have lots of ruts or lulls. I consider my personal creativity to be more of an ebb anf flow thing- it's tough is the plain answer- but places like CGtalk and the drive that is here and in the industry is sometimes enough to give me that extra push. Hopefully, if you give me a chance I might be able to inpire you from time to time to pick up the pencil instead of hitt'n the sack. right now I have a lot of tough personal situations at home-my wife is currently trying to recover from an operation that she had for an auto immune disease, and my son has been diagnosed with autism. I don't have the enrgy to do a new painting at the moment- I tend to spend most of my time with my family at the moment- but I still try to take the time to give back to the industry that has been so kind to me over the years, hence why I have found the energy to stay up late the last little while to put out the concept illos and tutorial. I'll rest for a bit and hopefully have more energy back come time of the workshop.
To make a long story short- don't worry- you'll create when your inspired- and you don't have to be prolific everyday- it's not natural- and don't let anyone talk you into chemically enhancing your performance- via gallons of caffeine or any other redbull/dietary drug crap.
It's a sliperry slope- I used to have 12-15 cans of coke a day- and I'm still trying to run off those extra pounds
PS - That is just my opinion please take it as is, and for what it's worth.
Hey Glen. Your work is freakin fantastic man. I can for the life of me not understand why there's no "award winner" logo under your name yet... am I missin something?? Anyway, I don't know why I havn't yet have you added as a favourite, but I'm definately adding you straight after this post. You're an inspiration
Me again. Just read your last post, and I must say that my heart goes out to you concerning your family situation. I'm calling it a situation rather than a problem, because if you see challenging events as problems you'll likely turn out a bitter and negative person. Remember that every cloud has a silver lining, and if we open our eyes to an entirety of a situation, we often find something wonderfull hidden within. Best of luck to you and your family.
