Thanks to some excellent feedback I made some revisions to this piece:

I have gone through and removed the dodge and burn highlights, replacing them with painted values and simplifying them so that the figure reads easier.

I have also reduced the unneccessary coimplication in his legs, so that they don't draw too much focus or confuse the viewer as to what is going on. The description called for special boots, so I kept some of the design in, but pushed it a bit back behind some smoke to keep them in check.
